Kuwait Mangaf 23/09/16

Breezy day. Mainly from NNE. Low tide 0.5m at 1026hrs. Fished from 0930 to 1030. Waded to 1m deep casting to south in an arc as I walked southwards.
Plenty of attacks on floating fly ( white top and tail with fluo orange belly.
Hooked into many needlefish but only landed 2 and 1 half-beak.

New flies

Weather has finally moved into warm water mode.
Three new flies made from the scraps to float close to the surface and disturb it on the retrieve. The first shown is just a single hook. The other two have a small flying treble.
The last one in the sequence was the first of the batch. The top one was manufactured next. The middle one was the last and came out the best. The white thread is very friable and I need to get a stronger variety.

New fly

After bringing a few of my fly tying bits back from the UK after the Christmas vacation I made up this fly/lure today. It's the first fly I've put together for 6 years so I was a bit slow and it wasn't the most symmetrical in appearance when finished. The fluo pink neck is polypropylene thread and the body is white fritz over white chenille over ether foam (some of which is poking out as a salmon pink head).
There is a flying treble to increase the chances of locking into the hard beaks of the needle fish and half-beaks that lunge at these surface lures in the Gulf waters. The tail is a mix of buck tail and white marabou.
